Around the Bend...

Well, I haven't posted in a while, and that is mostly because I am in Bend at my parents house... Me, Joe and Chloe drove up on Friday. Chloe was better than I was expecting on the drive up, which was really nice! It's quite a ways and I was a little worried about the trip being miserable for both her and us! Dad and Joe left for their hunting trip and Mom, the girls and I have been hanging out ever since... Lots of fun!!! On Saturday we went to a potluck, Sunday was meeting of course, Monday we just did a bunch of errands, Tuesday the workers came over for lunch, and here it is already Wednesday night! Well, I could bore you with a bunch of details, but I won't! I didn't bring the cord for the camera, so I can't put any pictures up on the blog until I get home... Oops, I'll have to remember that for next time! Now for my three things- 1.) Spending time with family! 2.) People making Chloe smile! 3.) Chloe looking for me and smiling when she finds me!!!

An official photo session...

Well, today I finally took Chloe in for her first official photo session, and she was great! There were several things I was worried about. The first was that she would have a major blow-out! She has been know to do this-sweet little thing that she is, but we made it there and back with no major mishaps! Then, of course I was worried she wouldn't smile and be her cute little self, but as you can see, I think she did great (in my ever so humble mommy opinion!). Not a bad first picture taking experience... Must be all the practice she's had at home! :) Here are a few of the pictures~

Tag, cake, and soda

1.) A game of phone tag that actually ends the same day it started!

2.) Making a cake I've never made before, and having it actually turn out! Pineapple upside down cake in case you were wondering! Yummy- Eve and Joe's favorite!

3.) A glass of diet Dr. Pepper-with ice! And caffeine free these days! I'm craving one and it's almost midnight, but I think I'm gonna get one and finish reading everyone else's blogs while I enjoy it!

Trying to catch up...

It has been pretty crazy around here the last couple of days and I haven't had much time to post anything, so here are a few new pictures of my favorite subject!!!

My mischievous little munchkin

Don't you just love this pouty face!!!
Now for my three beautiful things:
1.) Tahoe in the fall- You don't have to worry about driving in the snow and the fall colors are just gorgeous! I don't know why we don't take advantage of how close we live to some of the greatest places in California!
2.) A sleeping baby-at any time! I was going to say during meeting, but I don't think it matters when! There is nothing more beautiful than to look at a sleeping baby.
3.) Driving on a road trip with Joe. We do some of our best talking in the car!

Found, Life, and Love

1.) Being found on myspace by someone I truly love and have lost contact with over the years! (My dear cousin Josey, in case you're wondering who!)

2.) Seeing that someone you care about has made a wonderful life for themselves. (Again, my cousin Josey!)

3.) Watching Joe with Chloe. It's so beautiful to see love growing right before my eyes!

Cleaning, Organizing, and Crossing

Well, it's officially Tuesday, but this is when I have time to write, although I should be sleeping. I'm getting into the bad habit of staying up w-a-y too late, which doesn't help with the whole lack of sleep due to baby thing! Anyway, I've mostly been cleaning the house today so my three things all have to do with that!

1.) A clean kitchen at the end of the day. Somehow when the kitchen is clean it makes the whole house feel clean, even if it's not.

2.) An organized desk. I didn't actually get the computer desk organized (which would truly be a beautiful thing!), but I have another desk in a different room that still had boxes I hadn't unpacked, so it is this desk that I organized. I love organizing things... I think I'm a little OCD at times, but only about weird little things, so it's okay!

3.) Crossing things off my list! I think the reason I love doing that so much is I feel like I actually accomplished something that day.

That's all folks! I know my faithful reader (notice it's singular... Thanks Mom!) doesn't mind reading my idle clatter! (no, I didn't misspell chatter, you see, I'm not talking, I'm typing!)

Three Beautiful Things!

Well, I was going to try and figure out how to put a list of links on my blog, so I went to the blogger homepage and happened to notice the "Blogs of Note" link and I clicked on it which took me to Three Beautiful Things I really liked reading some of Claire's blog and thought it was a great idea! Her blog simply states that "everyday [she] wants to record three things that have given her pleasure." What a wonderful way to write something everyday, and better than that it would be something positive. I don't know how good I'll be at it, but I would really like to try it because A.) even though I don't post something even close to everyday, I check my blog and everyone else's blog everyday, so I might as well do something a little more productive while I'm online, B.) Since I'm not in school, I'm no longer forced to write papers, and while I always thought I hated that part of school, there is a part of me that misses the writing and worries that if I don't write something every once in a while I'll forget how, and C.) I simply like the idea. So here are my three beautiful things for the day!

1. Waking up to a smiling, cooing baby!

2. Waking up early enough that there is no need to rush around getting ready.

3. Sunday afternoon naps! The kind where you sleep so hard you wake up with pillow marks on your face.

I'm noticing that my three things involve either sleep or not sleeping. Must be that sleep is weighing on my mind these days! Although I can't complain too much since I did get a nap today, and the reason I can write this right now is because she's sleeping! Well, needless to say, I didn't figure out how to make a links section on my blog since I spent so much time reading Clare's blog and writing my own beautiful things post! Maybe the next time Chloe's sleeping I can figure it out.

Been a while...

Chloe decides to sleep after meeting!
Family picture!

I am constantly amazed at how fast time seems to be moving these days! It's already October, and we're already halfway through the first week! How does that happen? Well, Mom came and went already and I keep waiting for her to send me the pictures from that weekend because I stupidly didn't take any pictures on my camera. Well, I took a few, which I will be putting on here but Mom has a lot more. While she was here we finally took a family picture. For some reason the only other family picture we had taken was when we were leaving the hospital, and let me tell you, I am looking haggard !!! Not exactly something to put on the wall!

Anyway, back to the weekend Mom was here... There is something so nice about family, and especially my mom, coming for a vist! For one thing she is so excited to see Chloe and wants to hold her and take care of her as much as she can, so I get a little break! And for some reason I don't feel guilty letting her take over for a while. That, and the fact that she always makes cooking look so easy! I can't wait for the day when making dinner is something I can just whip up, no problem-o! The other thing that made Mom's visit so much fun was that we went shopping! She is one person I enjoy shopping with! I'm finding that a lot of the time I like shopping by myself. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a shopping trip with "the girls" as much as the next gal, but when I go shopping with other people, I usually end up just looking at a bunch of stuff. I think the difference is that when I shop with my Mom I know she won't mind waiting for me to try on a bunch of dresses or shoes or whatever so the shopping trips are much more productive. It's also just plain fun to spend time with my Mom since I don't get to do that all the time.
