Things...

  • Eli is really ticklish and it's so addictive to make him squirm and giggle and laugh!
  • The other night Joe used my name and Chloe was standing right by me. She looked quizzically up at me and said "Chana?" I told her that yes, my other name is Shana. She then said "mommy?" and I told her that I had two names- Mommy and Shana. Throughout the day she has come up to me and used my "other" name. I think she likes to test out my other name because it makes me laugh when she says Chana.
  • Chloe is trying to figure out "you" and "me," which is actually pretty complicated since it changes depending on who is talking! It's really cute when she points at herself and says "you?"
  • There is a really cool site that helps track your calories, activities, etc. but the best part is that it's free... If you want to check it out its here.

I'm It!

I guess I'm supposed to come up with seven little known facts about myself. Here goes!

1. I love cherry tomatoes and eat them like candy! Good thing our garden has more than I can handle!

2. I have approximately 40 unread magazines stacked by my bed that I hope to get through at some point in my life... I can't stand the thought of just throwing them out without having read them!

3. I love water-skiing but haven't gone yet this summer. I've been skiing since I was 11 (I think that's how old I was) but each time I get in the water and am out there waiting for the boat to pull me up I have a little flutter of fear that I may have forgotten how to do it! As I come out of the water that flutter of fear turns into exhilaration that I do in fact remember how!

4. I am what some people might label as "anal" but only about some things! Like my tupperware and lids are always organized, my purses are usually very organized (although since having kids they have become a little messier) and my closet is color coded and all my skirts are hung according to length and material.

5. I hate flossing my teeth, but have been doing it more often since dental work costs a lot. I also figure I should set a good example for my kids, so hopefully by then I'll be an every day flosser!

6. I have a really hard time deciding what to read because there are SO many books I want to read. I'm afraid I'll read the wrong one, which logically doesn't make much sense but that's how I feel!

7. I love to make lists, but I love to cross things off my list even more. It makes me feel like I have accomplished something!

Now the people I'm tagging are: Mom, (maybe this will prompt you to blog again since you haven't in quite a while!) Eve, and Cari... Anyone else that wants to feel free!

Quick (but long) photo update

We somehow manage to not really do much but feel incredible busy! Two weekends ago we went to my parents house for a long weekend. We didn't do a whole lot but it's always nice to be home and spend time with family, although I somehow forgot to take many pictures again!

Fun for all involved!

Unfortunately on Monday Chloe got sick, which made the drive back from my parents house pretty awful! She was sick most of the week, but felt better by Saturday, which was a good thing since my Aunt Pam, Uncle Tom and cousins Daniel and Malia stayed with us on their way back to their house in Arizona. The only picture I managed to take was one of my cousin Malia with Eli. She loves holding babies and Eli was glad to oblige! Here she is all snuggled up with a sleeping Eli!

I love this one of Chloe! She was picking
the little cherry tomatoes and I think
she thought she wasn't supposed to!

Sweet smiling Eli!

Last Weekend...

was Sequoia's 3rd birthday party. It was a lot of fun and Eli got to meet his other cousin Lincoln for the first time! My camera battery was dead (always happens at the most inopportune times!) so we have Kyra to thank for all of these pictures! Fun was had by all!

Happy Cousins!

Eli, Lincoln, Luke, and Mia! That's a LOT of babies!

2 Months!

On Sunday Eli was officially two months old! He is still the sweetest, happiest, best baby I could have asked for! He's getting really smiley and loves to coo and gurgle, which is just adorable! I took him to his two month checkup on Tuesday and he weighed in at 14.7 lbs! He's quite the chunk! He was 23 inches and had three shots! He cried (of course) but it wasn't as bad as when Chloe had her shots at two months because they have combined several of the vaccines so instead of the five shots she got it's down to three! That and I think having gone through it before makes it a little easier!

These are a bunch of pictures I took of Eli on Sunday! They were all so cute I couldn't decide which ones to post so you're getting them all (at least all of the good ones!)

Who's that cutie?

Last night our friends Bob and Lorrie and their new little girl Sophia came over for dinner. Sophia is only two months older than Eli and is a total cutie!!

Look at those big brown eyes!

I wonder what's over there?

I can just see the little thought bubble above Eli's head-
"Wow! Who's that cutie?"

"Maybe if I smile real cute like she'll look my way!"

I can be pretty cute!

Nope, not working... My toes are
w-a-y more interesting than you!

Oh well- at least Mom likes my smile!

Licking the spoon...

When ever I have the mixing bowls out Chloe comes running into the kitchen dragging the chair over to the counter insisting that she help me "tir, tir" (Stir)! Our zucchini bread experience must have made a lasting impression! After she helped me "tir" the coffee cake I was making I let her lick the spoon... You've never seen a happier more intent little girl! She wanted to make sure she got every last drop off of that spoon!

Great Grandma Ruth and a Party...

Last weekend we went to little William Parker's 1st birthday party! Chloe and Scarlett had fun playing together and we finally got a picture of Great Grandma Ruth holding Eli!

The Birthday Boy!

He's so proud of himself here!

Yummy cake!
